Riding way back in the station wagon, no seatbelts and away we go. Secondhand smoke filling up the cabin. Daddy‘s drinking but he’s driving slow.
Hitchhiking and we’re in luck, riding in the bed of a pickup truck. From this childhood we all grew up.
This used to be our reality.

Played outside beyond the yard. In the streets amongst the cars. All sunburnt with a bloody nose. Drinking water from the hose.
